PORTONOVO BLUE FLAG - ANCONA

Portonovo is a resort in the town of Ancona, a renowned tourist resort and artistic, which faces the bay.

The south, between the Watchtower and the medieval church, is an area conducive to the practice of windsurfing, thanks to the wind almost always present. In the west there is a pier artificial, which should only be used for emergency situations, and that many swimmers use to dive into the sea.

The lakes of Portonovo still constitute a habitat of natural interest; regarding wildlife remembers the presence of moorhen, Kingfisher, Mallard and Coot, while for flora, we highlight the reed, sedge and reeds.

There are three monuments of Portonovo: the Church of Santa Maria, the Tower of Guard and the Napoleonic Fort.

The scenic spots where you can enjoy a full view of all Portonovo are two: one near the junction of Provincial Conero, allowing views across the bay, the beach Mezzavalle, the rock of the beam and the Monte dei Corvi ; the other is along the access road to the resort, near a curve, and allows you to see the entire area, with the two lakes, the three monuments and the rock of Vela.
